Fresh Baked Asparagus

1 to 1-1/2 lbs. fresh asparagus
Salt and pepper
3 Tbsp butter

Rinse and trip the stumps off the asparagus. Place it in one or two layers in flat baking pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and dot with butter. Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes at 300*F. The asparagus will be crunchy and not lose color.
